Giving a Simple Reason
When you speak, it’s good to give a reason for your opinion. A very useful word for giving a reason is “because.”
To talk about your favorite animal, you can use this simple sentence structure:
My favorite animal is the [animal] because it is [describing word].

Using “because” makes your answer much better!
Tips for Success
Here are two simple tips to help you speak more clearly.
- Use the Full Sentence. Start with “My favorite animal is…” This is great practice for speaking tests.
- Pause Before “Because”. Take a small breath before you give your reason. For example: “I like dogs… (pause) …because they are smart.”
