When you speak in the TOEFL test, you often need to explain your opinion. A simple and powerful way to do this is by giving a reason. We use the word “because” to connect our choice to our reason.
Use this easy structure:

Here are two simple tips to make your speaking answers sound great.
- Use the Full Sentence. Don’t just say “Math.” It’s better to say, “My favorite subject is Math.” This is excellent practice.
- One Good Reason is Enough. You don’t need many reasons. Just one clear reason using “because” is perfect for a strong answer.
