Connecting Ideas with ‘Because’
When we write, we need to explain our ideas. To explain why you like your friend, you can use the connecting word “because.” It answers the question “Why?”
Let’s look at how to build a good description.
- Introduce your friend: Adi is my best friend.
- Give the reason: Use “because” to connect your statement to the reason.
The full sentence structure looks like this:
Adi is my best friend because he is a nice.
I like [him/her] + because + [he/she] is [describing word].
- Use him for a boy.
- Use her for a girl.
Example:
Sentence: I like my best friend, Budi, because he is helpful.
This sentence is much better than just saying “Budi is helpful.” It explains the connection.
Tips for Success
Here are two simple tips for writing about your friend.
- Always Explain “Why”. The word “because” is your most important tool for this topic. It makes your writing stronger.
- Use the Correct Pronoun. Remember to use he for boys and she for girls. (e.g., “He is kind.” / “She is funny.”)
