Warm up

  1.  Look at the picture and the text above. What do you think it is?
It is an advertisement for an adventure holiday
  2. Is it the type of holiday you would like? and why/why not.
  3. What other adventure holidays do you know of?
Think of other ideas for adventure holidays with a partner.

Main Activity

  1. You are the bosses of an adventure travel company. Make groups of eight or more. Divide each group into four pairs
  2. Look at the information about four different holidays. Each pair take one without looking at it
  3. Read it and ask the teacher about anything you do not understand.
  4. Discuss the extra services on your sheet and decide which ones you would choose
  5. You are going to make a radio advertisement for their holiday and present it to the class. It should be about a minute long, with the following information.
    where?
    ten days
    accommodation -hotel
    activities
    any other information?

You should try to make it imaginative and sound like an advertisement, with lots of sensational adjectives. Refer to the article above as a style guide. You can also use short pieces of an interview with past customers if you want.

Market research has shown that most customers will not pay more than a certain price for your holidays.
