Warm up 

  1. What do you do on weekends? 
  2. Where do you get the information about what is happening in town? 
  3. Imagine that English friends are visiting the town.  Where would you take them? What would you say? Practise suggesting going to different places using different expressions.

  1. You will be in groups of two to four. Here is some information, look at the information and decide what you want to do together.

  2. Look at the information and decide what you want to do together. 
  3. Your teacher will go around the class helping with anything you do not understand. Make sure that all the people in the group are included in the decision-making. 
  4. Write a few examples of what the groups decided to do. If there were any things that were difficult to agree about. Find out which things were general favourites.
  5. Your plans are going to change: you have just got a letter from your parents, grandparents, or another old relative, and the person is going to visit you this weekend. You must think about your plans again and change them so that your family will enjoy their visit. 
  6. Are you able to agree on what to do? Tell your teacher about any big problems. Find out which things are general favourites now compared with before. 
  7. Finally, what do you think of Westone and would you like to visit? . 

Follow up

  1. In groups of two to four, you have to plan the perfect day of your dream; you can do
    anything, go anywhere and meet anyone you want.
  2. Plan your perfect day. Think about:
    – What?
    – Where?
    – Who?
    – When?
  3. Share and compare your ideas around the class.
