Story Sharing: My Last Trip to the Mall

Instructions:
In pairs or small groups, take turns telling your classmates about the last time you went to the mall or another hangout place. Share the following details:

  • When did you go?
  • Who did you go with?
  • What did you do there?
  • Did you buy anything?
  • How did you feel about the experience?

Activity 2:

Role Play: Asking for Recommendations at the Mall

Instructions:
In pairs, practice a role play where one person is a customer and the other is a shop assistant at the mall. The customer needs to ask for recommendations based on what they’re looking for. Use the following situations:

  • Looking for a birthday gift for a friend.
  • Looking for a new pair of jeans or a shirt.
  • Looking for a place to eat at the food court.

Activity 3:

Discussing Favorite Hangout Spots

Instructions:
In small groups, ask each student to describe their favorite hangout place (mall, park, cafe, etc.) and explain why they like it. They should mention:

  • What makes this place special for them?
  • What do they usually do there?
  • Who do they usually go with?
  • Any memorable experiences or stories from this place?

Activity 4:

“If I Were Tom” – A Story Recreation Activity

Instructions:
Listen to Tom’s story about going to the mall (or any story related to going out). Now, imagine you are Tom, and tell your own version of the story. Change the details and make the story your own by adding personal touches, like what you bought, who you went with, and what happened during the trip.
